All students in Lower Secondary enjoy their learning in our new facilities on the Marmion Street site. Students study in state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with interactive televisions that teachers connect to via wireless devices, enabling learning to be in line with 21st century thinking.
Students enjoy a rich diversity of learning moving throughout the campus enjoying classes in our learning block, specialist learning areas, design and technology and gymnasium, with an outside sports precinct that has one of the largest football ovals in Western Australia.
We follow the Western Australian Curriculum with all core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and HASS on offer plus, a range of electives. In years 8 and 9 students enjoy elective subjects such as Woodwork, Home Economics; cooking and sewing and The Arts including Music and Visual Arts. Students also study Health and Physical Education. Years 8 and 9 students also have the opportunity to enrol in private one to one music lessons as part of their schooling at Carnarvon Community College. This opportunity gives these students chance to perform as part of the school band at in school and out of school events.A strong focus is placed on digital technologies with all classes able to access the 2 modern computer laboratories to compliment and assist understanding and learning in all subject areas.
